Within each quarter, the first month starts on a Sunday, the second month starts on a Wednesday and the third month starts on a Friday. The quarter ends on a Saturday. Each day of the year always falls on the same day of the week.
The detailed date equivalence of the Gregorian and WC systems is listed in Table 9.35. Note that the correspondence between the two calendars is closer for leap years than it is for common years, since the intercalation of February 29 introduces an extra day in the first half of the year and thus tends to redress the disparity between the number of days in the two halves of the year which ordinarily exists in the Gregorian calendar.
