by the moon. The attempt to adjust lunar months to solar years adds still more complexity. It is not a wonder that the general trend has been toward a solar month.
But all these lunar and lunisolar calendars were created centuries ago. We know more now. What if no one really did a lunar calendar properly? Can we start from scratch and do it right?
This section discusses the Goddess Lunar Calendar (GLC) invented by Peter Meyer. This calendar is interesting from several perspectives. First, it is a new, invented calendar. Second, it is an unabashedly lunar calendar, and a good one at that. Third, it is an original idea and well developed. Fourth, GLC is representative of the neopagan movement, which is gaining popularity, especially among the bitheads, who are a core technopagan constituency.

Introduction
The GLC is a calendar invented relatively recently by Peter Meyer. As such, it is different from any other calendar in this book, since the concept for the calendar is the intellectual property of Mr. Meyer.
Mr. Meyer has written software for the GLC and Gregorian/GLC date conversions, as well as other calendars. His software is available from several Internet sites listed below. The reader should note that any commercial use of the GLC requires a license from Peter Meyer, not from Resource Management Systems. Personal use of all SCDTL source code is simple and described in the Preface of this work. Mr. Meyer's GLC source code can be freely downloaded for personal use as of this writing (see below).
The SCDTL software for GLC was written independently after reviewing a description of the calendar. I have never reviewed Mr. Meyer's source code. The SCDTL version of GLC differs functionally from Mr. Meyer's in one respect, namely, that the SCDTL version considers negative year numbers to be invalid. Mr. Meyer's version does not have this limitation.
Peter Meyer can be contacted regarding the GLC at the following physical address:

Any errors in the SCDTL implementation of the GLC are, of course, solely the responsibility of the author and not Mr. Meyer.
