In general, then, the earlier numbers in the DTLT series are concerned with those functions written earlier in the life of the SCDTL project. This picture is complicated somewhat because functions were occasionally eliminated from SCDTL as the system evolved, leaving holes which were backfilled by later functions. The reader interested in forming a mental picture of the growth of the SCDTL project may do so by studying the test programs closely. Also, he should get out more. |

This section describes the DTLT test programs. See the text on the CD, Section 10.3.1. in the file ch_10031.txt for the original working list used to track SCDTL testing and bearing annotations. All functions in the SCDTL series are tested. The programs to perform the requisite testing belong to the Date/Time Library Test (DTLT) series. Each program tests and/or demonstrates the use of one or more functions. |

The assignment of numbers in the series is chronological as different functions are written. Functions removed from the SCDTL system for any reason create a vacancy in the series, which is then filled by the next function tested. There is no other connection between DTLT series number and tested function. |

The CD contains the source code for all DTLT test programs in the text of the files ch10032a.txt and ch10032b.txt You may study these programs for examples of function usage, as well as techniques that may be useful in practice. |

You may compile the test programs. Because of the large number of compilers available, it is not possible for the SCDTL system to supply compiler aids. The SCDTL system assumes that you are capable of setting up and performing compilation with the C compiler of choice. |
|

|
|
|

Be warned that some test programs, particularly those which constitute "round-trip" tests of calendar conversion functions, may consume much more time than others in execution. All such programs are clearly identified in their respective comment section. |
