A typical application may use only one or a few of these headers. In particular, scdtl_2.h contains the prototypes for the basic Western calendar functions, including the Julian Day conversions, format functions, and other basic utilities. It may be the only header required for many common applications. Note that dateinfo.h and timeinfo.h are included in scdtl_1.h, which is, in turn, included in scdtl_2.h. The time_12.h header file is also included in scdtl_1.h, and therefore picked up in scdtl_2.h as well. |

Applications that use a calendar other than the Western (Julian and Gregorian) calendar will use the additional header file for the particular calendar. Thus, an application that involved conversions between Gregorian and Islamic calendar dates would pick up both scdtl_2.h and islam_2.h. |
