5.6.1
Date Comparisons
These functions perform the basic comparisons required for dates. They may be used with any calendar that uses the year, month, and day system available in the DATE_INFO structure.
day_equal () determines whether the day of a given date is equal to the day of a second given date, ignoring the year and month of both dates.
month_equal () determines whether the month of a given date is equal to the month of a second given date, ignoring the year and day of both dates.
year_equal () determines whether the year of a given date is equal to the year of a second given date, ignoring the day and month of both dates.
day_and_month_equal () determines the equality of the day and month of two dates, ignoring the year.
date_equal () determines the equality of two dates.
date_not_equal () determines whether a given date is not equal to a second given date, in the sense that the first date contains a year, month, or day that is not the same as the year, month, or day of the second date.
date_greater () determines whether a given date is greater than a second given date, in the sense that the first date occurs after the second date.
date_less () determines whether a given date is less than a second given date, in the sense that the first date occurs before the second date.
date_greater_or_equal () determines whether a given date is greater than or equal to a second given date, in the sense that the first date either occurs after the second date or is the same date.
date_less_or_equal () determines whether a given date is less than or equal to a second given date, in the sense that the first date either occurs before the second date or is the same date.
The comparison functions are tool kit utility functions for performing date and time comparisons. Seasoned readers will recognize early FORTRAN in the choice of file name abbreviations for the six comparison operators.
5.6.2
Time Comparisons
These functions perform the basic comparisons required for time. They may be used with any system that uses the hour, minute, and second system available in the TIME_INFO structure.
seconds_equal () determines whether the seconds of a given time is equal to the seconds of a second given time, ignoring the hours and minutes of both times.
