Sessions

Beginning EJB 3 Application Development:
The EJB 3.0 specification has gone through significant transformation in Java EE 5.0 platform. It has evolved on all fronts to address
the commonly stated opinions like "an overly heavy and difficult component model to use and deploy".

This session will introduce and explain the evolution of the EJB 3.0 specification, and discuss the ease of development, simplifed model
for Session Beans and MessageDriven Beans, and Java Persistence API(JPA). This session will also include walkthrough of code samples
and demos to look at the new features around Persistence Context, dependency injection, O-R mapping annotations, and running POJO
(plain old java object) inside and outside Java EE container. This session will conclude with discussion on performance comparision
between EJB 2.1 and EJB 3.0 based on usage of common design patterns. 

Integrating BPEL, Human Workflow and Business Rules in Java EE: 
As enterprises move towards business process optimization, they are looking for efficient mechanisms to orchestrate interactions between
systems, services and people in order to achieve their strategic and operational objectives. In this session we will discuss how WS-BPEL a standards
based infrastructure can be used in Java EE platform to architect a workflow solution that is integrated with a business rules engine based on JSR-94.
This session will further drill down into a BPM capabilities, to show how WS-BPEL, workflow services and rules are used together to create a dyanmic
process flow which includes service orchestration and policy based task assignment , escalation and load balancing tasks among users.
