1: اتصال دائم بينكم و بين الفرع ... لا أدري انت ذكرت VPN كمثال.

2: ان يكون لديك الصلاحيه على مستوى ال Forest لتقوم بعمل forestprep ... و صلاحيات على مستوى ال domain لتقوم بعمل domainprep ... و ذلك بغرض تهيئة ال AD ليستقبل ال Exchange الجديد.

3: يلزمك member Server بمواصفات جيده.

4: بعد ذلك تقوم بتنصيب ال Exchange مع ضمانة وجود اتصال حتى يتم التعرف على ال domain و كتاية ال attributes اللازمه في ال AD ...

The situation is like this:

We have to use our mother company's domain name for emails, they want us to connect to them through a VPN connection, the main mail server is located in Germany, and we have branches in 3 cities in KSA, whats the best configuration? shall I install 3 exchange servers, one in each branch here? or let all the branches here connect to one exchange server and through this exchange server to Germany?

We'll have our own local domain name here in KSA, but for email accounts we'll use the mother company public domain name (the main mail server is located in Germany), they want us to include an "SMTP" connecter to the central mail server in Germany in our exchange server, so how shall I configure exchange?

I have an HP 380 G5 server ( 2 Quad core 2.0GHz, 8GB RAM, 72GB + 3*146GB HDD), I am planning to install A.D and Exchange 2003 on it, and I have a PC with good specs to install ISA 2004 on it, what do you think?

well this is so conceptual to design, both designes are valid.

the first one is the centralized exchange, by enabling all of the users to connect to the HQ exchange sever, you will have to make sure that the exchange server has the adequate HW, and that he will meet the new demand on the term of IOPs and RAM load.

the other thing is decentralized exchange, get an exchange server for each country, you will need to by dedicated HW, add to that the administrative cost, but in case you lost the connectivity this sill be transparent to the end user.

both are valid but you will need to do the math and benchmark the HQ server performance.

If your branch will have it's own domain so we are talking about two different forests, so logically you are outside Exchange organisation, and no way to include yourself as Exchange organisation member using Exchange 2003 as long as you are not part of the forest, this situation is identical with Exchange 2007 and solved through (Accepted Domains Concept) , so what you need actually as a design concept is to make a mail-enabled strategies, that's mean, you have mailboxes in the HQ Exchange

but not associated with the domain directly as mailboxes

So all you need will be an access with your domain e-mails or ISP mailing system to the HQ Exchange through OWA as example to access you mail enabled accounts in the HQ Exchange ORG.

to be more clear, either you will use the same forest, which is much easier "either in the same domain or different domain" and I mean AD domain not SMTP domain.

in the case of multiple ofrest you will have to consider SMTP namespace sharing and also you will have to think about 2 very critical factor which are:

GAL synchronization

Certificate for SSL and Exchange services.

in KSA we will have our own domain, i will intall a D.C in every branch, we'll use a wimax connection between the branches, but my question is about exchanger server, the mother company in germany wants all branches all over the world to use the same domain name for email accounts (ie: @mothercompany.com), we will make a VPN connection from our head office in KSA to the main mail server in germany ( all mail servers are MS Exchange server 2003 ).

The question is how to do this? will including an SMTP connecter in my exchange server do this?

will I need to install exchange server in all the branches here? or only in the KSA head office?

is it good to install A.D and Exchange on one server machine?

Why not using the HQ server and spare the hustle

you are not clear in the most important point.... what do you mean by (your branch will have its own domain) that means your branch will have its own forest ?? and if it is like that so we cant say your office is branch for germany HQ as long as it not part of the main forest from designing perspective, you should considered as partner

it will be like this, i will configure a new domain in ksa riyadh head office, i'll install additional D.Cs in the 3 branches, we'll have a 256kbps dsl connections between branches inside ksa... exchange server will be installed in riyadh head office, SMTP connecter will be included in exchange server here to exchange server in germany through a vpn connection...

the thing is that i am new here, and thats the instructions received from them!!! now we r using username@companyksa.com email accounts (no exchange server here now, our emails r hosted at a mail hosting company), they want us to use username@company.com (without the ksa, which is what they r using now), any help on how to do this?

you can use SMTP across 2 forests, but why

well, they only want us to use the same e-mail domain name... they didnt say anything about being in the same forest! whats important to them is using the same email name
