hi, i work in a company where the finance department want to keep their files secured, they want their data to be isolated from all other departments, whats the best way to do this?
i am thinking of 2 ways:
1- putting all their data on a member server (file server) that is restricted only to users in finance department.
2- creating a child domain ( finance.company.com)
what would u recommend?
You dont need to create a child domain coz it will not enhance your security as long as they are in the same forest with the same Schema
I prefer to put them in a member server and enforce IPSec so that no one will access the member server until he will authenticate himself as authorized person through providing a pre-shared key or providing the appropriate certificate.
Another solution is by protecting data using RMS
