Do you need any help in SQL Server? Do you have suggestion or complain?

Hey all,

My name is Mohamed Moshrif

I work in the Development team of SQL Server in Microsoft main HQ in Redmond

I posted a thread here long time ago asking if anyone needs any help in SQL Server

السلام علكم أخ محمد

أنا عندي سؤال

أريد أن ابرمج باستخدام visaul basic.net واستخدم في الربط sql هل من الضروري اني يكون في جهازي MS SQL

حيث انني مبتدأ في MS SQL

وماهو الفرق بين MS SQL و MYSQL؟

شاكره لك واحتاج هذاا لشيء ضرووووري

You don't need to install SQL Server in order to program for SQL Server, and the difference between MS SQL and MySQL that Microsoft builds MS SQL, and MySQL is done by another company, as in the difference in features, it's a lot, there are a lot of articles that cover this on the web

hi mohamed

i create a program using vb 2005 with sql 2005

its works fine

we have a netwoork in my company using oracle database in server

so i install sql server in my computer client and copy and paste my program folder

the conection to the sql server is done and in can go inside it by sql server mangment

when i run my program its work fine too and i was able to add or edit records in my table but for search it give me 26 error code that it colud not connect to the server!!!!

for search i use a dataset and a fill mithode and in add and edit i use parameters

why this error happend? is it because of the network?

i enable firewall and check the confige of sql and all is done also the service working automatic

I don't really understand the problem, can you right it in a form of steps?

You can write in arabic too, I can read arabic on my pc, I just don't have any arabic keyboards here

قمت بتصميم برنامج بالفيجوال بيسك 2005 وقاعدة بيانات sql server 2005

اريد ان يعمل على البرنامج اكثر من شخص من خلال الشبكة ولكن السيرفر عليه اوراكل داتا بيز ولا استطيع ان انزل عليه اسكيول

لذلك انزلته باحد اجهزة الكلاينت ونسخة ملف البرنامج كذلك وعمل اتصال بنجاك بين البرنامج واسكيو ال ولكن عند تشغيل البرنامج لا يقوم بعمل البحث ويعطي خطاء رقم 26 وهو عدم نجاح الاتصال مع قاعدة البيانات رغم انه يقوم بعمل الحفظ بشكل ممتاز عن طريق تمرير البراميتر

والبحث استخدم الداتا سيت

هل الافضل عمل ديبلوي للبرنامج او طريقة صحيحه ؟ ولماذا يعطي خطاء في الاتصال بقاعدة البيانات رغم اني استطيع الاتصال بها والدخول للجداول من خلال sql server managment studio?

I am still not sure if I understand you correctly

So your program can connect to the database when it tries to query data but not when it tries to insert data?

عند البحث يعطي خطاء في الاتصال عن بعد كود رقم 26 وليس عند الاضافة

الاضافة لا يوجد بها مشكلة

?SQL encountered that error msgbox whenever trying to open sql server 2000 so do you have Solutions about that problem

You sure nothing is messed up with your registry or installation?

Can you connect to it using OLEDB or using SqlConnection for example?

fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote

So you can connect to the server from all you application but not from the enterprise manager?

The question about registry is not related to the instance, because if you can connect from your apps but not the enterprise manager, then something is messed up with the enterprise manager's settings, probably some registry entry

Are you trying to connect to the instance over the network? i.e. the instance and the application are not on the same machine?

IF this is the case, then either remote connection is not enabled or Tcp/IP is not enabled
