2 Ways to create SharePoint list forms in InfoPath 2010

InfoPath 2010 with SharePoint 2010: A Walkthrough

To have InfoPath Forms in SharePoint you need the following :

SharePoint Enterprise License

or

you need to install InfoPath client on each PC that will need to see the Form on his PC

the InfoPart Services is pnly available on Enterprise sharepoint and that is one of the selling point of Sharepoint enterprise ... or as i said above you will need to install infopath client on each machine

the idea of infopath services is to browse the the Form and submit the form using the browser without the the need of Infopath client installed on the machine

now after you have the sharepoint entrprise license

you need to create "Form Library"

this library accept items of type InfoPath *.xsn

you can use the Library Form action menu to create a new form or use the InfoPath client to create one

the main thing is to set the configuration of the InfoPath Service in Central dmin to be Browasable by a Browser

so that the form will browsed in IE for example with the need of the InfoPath client

Another way to create the InfoPath form is:

Start InfoPath for example InfoPath 2007

and create the Form

and click Publish

you need to know the URL address of the Form Library you have created in your sitecollection

as this will be the place where InfoPath will save the forms templates inside it.

and also the most important thing is the form is browsable by a broser.
