Windows 2000 Installer

As of Maya 4.5, Gooroos Software now distributes all of its Windows 2000 plugins as self-extracting installers.

The filenames for all of Gooroos' installer packages begin with the letters gs, followed by the name of the plugin (e.g. Annotation), followed by the version of the plugin (e.g. -1.4.2) following by an extension of .exe. Thus if you downloaded the installer for version 1.4.2 of the annotation plugin, its filename would be gsAnnotation-1.4.2.exe.

If you currently have a version of the plugin installed, and it came in zip format, then you will have to remove its files by hand before installing the newer version. Refer to the packing list at the end of the Install.txt or Install-NT.txt file that came with the old version of the plugin for a list of the files to be removed.

If you currently have a version of the plugin installed, and it also came in installer format, then you need do nothing special as the installer will automatically remove the old version when you install the new one.

To install the new version of the plugin, you must either be logged in as 'Administrator' or have administrator privileges. You then just execute the downloaded file by double-clicking it in Windows Explorer, or running it from the Run item on the Windows Start menu, or running it from a command prompt, etc.

If at some point you decide to uninstall the plugin, go to the Windows Control Panel (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel), run the Add/Remove Programs command, click on the name of the plugin you wish to uninstall, then click on the Change/Remove button
