شو يعني toLowerCase()

السلام عليكم

لو سمحتو سؤالي يتعلق ب هذا السطر

 String word;
    word = word.toLowerCase();

ليش نكتبه
علما انه يستخدم في الميثود التالي وهو كود ل hashtable



public void insertWord() {
    String word;
    word = word.toLowerCase();
    if (table.containsKey(word)) {
      Integer count = (Integer) table.get(word);
      table.put(word, new Integer(count.intValue() + 1));
    }
    else { // otherwise add the word with a value of 1
      table.put(word, new Integer(1));
    }
  }
