i installed linux ( fedora ) on my computer but the probelm is i dont know how to create new connection for my internet in it

im using net cable for connectin to the internet ....

so can any one plz tell me how to do it ....

another question abt transfering the files from linux to win and in reverse ....

i was reading previous titles here in the forum and i found how to trasfer ur files from linux to windows but wht abt whn i wanna see my win files in linux ....

plz any one can answer my questions ....

1- for FAT

How to mount/unmount Windows partitions (FAT) manually, and allow all users to read/write

e.g. Assumed that /dev/hda1 is the location of Windows partition (FAT)

Local mount folder: /media/windows

* To mount Windows partition

mount /dev/hda1 /media/windows/ -t vfat -o iocharset=utf8,umask=000

2- for NTFS

you mast install this for support your system

yum -y install kernel-module-ntfs-$(uname -r)

thx alot fedora for replyin

but u didnt tell me abt the connection .. till now im using windows connection and dont have one in Linux ...

can u tell me if possible how to do it .....

and abt windows im havin some partitions Fat and some NTFS ...

any way i'll try it and see wht will happen with me

من سطر الاوامر وادخل الايبهات ips

او استعمل control center

i did wht u said bro besheer and it worked tht now whn the fedora start it shows ok near the net

but the problem whn i wanna access any web i cant ...

can u tell me why and is there anything i have to do after creating the connection??????????

if you're using ADSL USB modem to connect to Internet

and you've the Kernel 2.6.16 or newer, then it's easy to connect since this version of kernel includes the pilote "ueagle-atm"
