Creating the Portal Virtual Servers
Follow this procedure to create a portal.
To create a portal
1- Open the SharePoint Portal Server Central Administration page. In the Portal Site and Virtual Server Configuration section, click Create a Portal Site.
2- In the Create a Portal Site administration page, verify that Create a portal is selected.
3- Fill in the rest of the information on the Create a Portal Site administration page by using the information from the virtual server created earlier in this chapter
To test the corporate portal configuration:
1- Open the SharePoint Portal Server Central Administration page.
2- In the Portal Site and Virtual Server Configuration section, click List and Manage Portal Sites.
On the Manage Portal Sites page, you will see the URL for the portals that you just created. Click the URL to log on to each portal's home page
